An important development has occurred regarding retiree salaries. Seyfettin Çilesiz has filed a lawsuit against SGK for a uniform salary increase.

Çilesiz demands that the uniform increase of 8,077 TL given to civil servants in 2023 also be applied to retirees. If this request is accepted, retiree salaries could rise to 20,000 TL.

Çilesiz stated in his application to SGK that the increases for civil servants and retired civil servants should be equal. He emphasized that this situation is unconstitutional.

Ali Erdem Gündoğan, Çilesiz's lawyer, stated that the uniform increase was calculated based on the civil servant coefficient from July 2023 and that this amount increases every six months.

If the lawsuit is resolved in favor of the retiree, the lowest retiree salary could rise to 35,000 TL. This situation could open the door for increases for all retirees.

Çilesiz filed the lawsuit after SGK did not respond to him. This process is an important step for retirees to claim their rights.
