Heat Wave Approaching! Weather Alert Issued

A heat wave is taking over Turkey!
The General Directorate of Meteorology has reported that temperatures across the country will be above seasonal norms, especially in the interior regions. An increase in temperatures is expected starting Sunday.

Between July 27 and August 2, temperatures are expected to reach 40 degrees in Ankara, 35 degrees in Istanbul, and 45 degrees in Diyarbakır. Caution is advised during these dates.

Meteorology warns against being outdoors between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. These hours can be dangerous for those with chronic conditions, the elderly, and children.
Kurtalan has reached 49.1 degrees, becoming the hottest place in Turkey. With the heat wave, such temperatures are expected to rise further.
