DMM Denies CHP's Claims on Arbitration

A long shot of a pipeline.

The Presidency's Communication Directorate's Disinformation Center denied the claims made by CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz. Yavuzyılmaz alleged that Turkey was penalized by the international arbitration court due to Iraq oil.

DMM stated that 4 out of 5 requests from Iraq were rejected, and most of Turkey's requests were accepted, leading to mutual compensation payments.

DMM emphasized that Yavuzyılmaz's claims do not reflect the truth and announced that the Turkey-Iraq Crude Oil Pipeline Agreement has lost its relevance and will expire on July 27, 2026.

DMM described Yavuzyılmaz's statements as a smear campaign and stressed the importance of the public paying attention to official statements.
