The increase in pension payments for 2025 will be determined by inflation rates. The Turkish Statistical Institute will clarify the increase when it announces the June inflation figures.

Minister of Labour Vedat Işıkhan stated that they expect a decrease in inflation, but if there is an issue, an additional increase may be considered in July.

Experts indicate that an increase in the minimum wage will indirectly affect pension payments. Therefore, the increases in pension payments are eagerly awaited.

There are discussions about raising the lowest pension to 17,000 lira. However, if no adjustments are made for pensions below this level, many retirees will not benefit from the increase.

Approximately 4 million retirees will be affected by this situation. The topic of the lowest pension will be discussed in the Economic Coordination Council (EKK) meeting, and the decision on the increase will be clarified.

Experts state that if inflation decreases, the purchasing power of pension payments will increase. However, if inflation remains high, additional payments may become unavoidable.
