Two Arrests in Diyarbakir Fire Investigation

A tragic fire in Diyarbakir has led to the loss of four lives, including a mother and her three children. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and has captured the city's attention.
The Diyarbakir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office detained five suspects in connection with the fire that broke out on June 5. Two of these suspects have been arrested, while the others were released under judicial control.
The fire occurred in a 13-story apartment building in the Kayapınar district of Diyarbakir. Among the victims were Bircan Çavdar and her children.
The cause of the fire is attributed to construction errors and inadequate safety measures. The lack of ventilation in the fire escape routes hindered smoke evacuation.
Serra Bucak, Co-Chair of the Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, stated that the cause of the fire was deficiencies in the electrical system. Many safety gaps were identified during the subsequent investigations.
After the fire tragedy, residents temporarily relocated to their relatives' homes. The events following the fire have caused great sorrow in the city.
