ASELSAN's New Radar Technology and Media Oversight

ASELSAN has attracted attention with its fixed speed detection radar. The Interior Minister highlighted the traffic accidents during holidays, announcing that 120 radars have been placed on highways. However, this has also sparked some criticism.
Presidential Advisor Oktay Saral criticized the Interior Ministry, stating that the placement of radars every 30 km has become a subject of complaints. However, it is concerning that this issue has turned into a political calculation.
The situation of 62,761 citizens who lost their lives in traffic accidents over the past decade should not be a subject of political reckoning. Such matters directly affect human lives and should be treated with seriousness.
The media should take on the role of oversight and criticism in such matters. Institutions like RTÜK are essential to ensure that the media provides impartial and accurate information. However, these oversight mechanisms must not be subject to political pressures.
