Investigation Launched into Boycott Calls in Istanbul

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into boycott calls. This development follows the detention of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and the protests that ensued.
İmamoğlu was detained on March 19 and released on March 23. Following this incident, 301 young people were arrested for participating in the boycott protests.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called for a boycott, and students launched a campaign on social media. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office initiated an investigation for hate and discrimination charges.
