The application to sell döner only as "Turkish style" in EU countries has been withdrawn. This decision was made due to the failure to establish a common standard in the döner market.

Muhammet Nezif Emek, President of the International Döner Federation (UDOFED), stated that this withdrawal is not a step back but the beginning of a more inclusive strategy. Preparations for a new application will be initiated.

The new application will be prepared by gathering the opinions of producers and restaurant operators in the döner sector. This aims to create a stronger defense on international platforms.
