Greece's Maritime Spatial Planning and Turkey's Response

Greece's maritime spatial planning in the Aegean Sea has been legally rejected by Turkey. The Ministry of National Defense stated that such unilateral initiatives are contrary to international law.
Ministry sources emphasized that Greece's planning regarding maritime jurisdiction areas is unacceptable. Turkey continues its determination to protect its rights in the region.
Greece will present its 12-mile territorial waters and Exclusive Economic Zone map to the European Commission on April 27. This situation could become a diplomatic reference.
Turkey is continuing its Maritime Spatial Planning efforts aimed at the most efficient use of maritime areas. These efforts are being conducted with environmental factors in mind.
Greece's unilateral actions will not have legal consequences for Turkey. Turkey states that it is always ready for cooperation with Greece in the Aegean Sea.
