US Reduces Military Presence in Syria

The US has started to reduce its military presence in northeastern Syria, withdrawing from three military bases.
According to a report by the New York Times, US troops have vacated military points in Hasakeh and Deir Ezzor, returning to main bases. This raises concerns about the threat from ISIS and attacks by Iranian-backed militias.

Since October 2019, the US had increased its military presence in Syria. Now, it has decided to reduce this presence, cutting troop numbers from 2,000 to 1,400.
These developments indicate a reassessment of US strategic objectives in Syria. The future implications of this situation are eagerly awaited.
