AKP Deputy Denies Child Poverty, Remains Silent on TÜİK Data

AKP Istanbul Deputy Ümmügülşen Öztürk denied claims of child poverty at the TBMM Group Meeting. "Since we came to power, we have not abandoned any of our children to their fate," he stated.
Öztürk claimed that the opposition is trying to create a political ground by associating children with hunger. However, when İYİ Party's Şenol Sunat pointed out TÜİK data, he had no response.
The proposal was rejected by AKP-MHP votes. It was emphasized that more measures should be taken regarding child labor and poverty issues.
