RTÜK President Şahin's Strong Warning on Street Interviews

The President of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK), Ebubekir Şahin, stated that street interviews create negative perceptions in society.
Şahin expressed that broadcasts under the name of street interviews undermine the public's sense of hope and are against media ethics. He emphasized that they will not allow such broadcasts to create hopelessness in society.

President Erdoğan had also made harsh criticisms regarding street interviews. Şahin stated that they would use all legal powers as RTÜK.
Street interviews were defined as content that exploits the emotions of certain groups and leads the public into despair. RTÜK announced that they will closely monitor such broadcasts.

Şahin noted that inspections regarding street interviews would be intensified and that such broadcasts lead to division in society. He emphasized that there would be no tolerance for content that deliberately misleads the public.
