AKP Hatay Deputy Hüseyin Yayman stated that they adopt a restrictive attitude to protect society. This statement was made during the meeting of the Parliamentary Digital Media Commission.

Yayman emphasized that in a digitalized world, social media platforms disregard societal values, stating, "If protecting society is considered restrictive, then yes, we are restrictive too."

Yayman pointed out that while digital media provides an opportunity for individuals to express their opinions, it has also turned into a tool for manipulation.

During the meeting, he stated that they expect transparent and understandable answers from Google representatives regarding algorithm changes. Yayman expressed that the lack of oversight on social media platforms threatens democracy.
