Ekrem Baki, the AKP council member from Üsküdar Municipality, resigned from his party due to increasing pressure on the opposition. This decision created a buzz during the council meeting.

Baki explained his reasons for resignation, stating, "The heavy pressures against the opposition and the increasing intensity do not show any signs of improvement." His statement was met with applause from some members in the hall.

Baki's resignation also resonated widely on social media. Famous actress Hayal Köseoğlu expressed her shock, saying, "I have never seen an AKP member resign in my life. I watched in shock."

Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş congratulated Baki on his decision, hoping it would be beneficial for both him and the country. Baki will continue as an Independent Council Member.
