Former CHP deputy Gursel Tekin evaluated the expulsion process in statements made on CNN Türk. Tekin stated that this process was not a surprise for him.

Recalling the headscarf debates he experienced in 1998, Tekin emphasized that individual freedoms cannot be restricted. He expressed that this situation deeply disturbed him.

After being appointed as a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, Gursel Tekin stated in his remarks that they are the conscience of the party and will continue their struggle.

Tekin expressed that expulsion decisions cannot silence them, stating, "We are the conscience, roots, and memory of the CHP."

He emphasized that no decision made by those who try to overshadow the party's past would be valid. He stated that the CHP would grow even more during this process.
