CHP leader Özgür Özel strongly criticized the operation against Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. His statements regarding the detentions and allegations of public harm drew attention.

Thirteen people were detained as part of the investigation initiated by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Özel described this situation as a perception operation and stated that the former mayor was aware of the operation beforehand.

Özel stated, "The truth is that during the AK Party period, 33 million dollars were spent on 80 events. During Mansur Yavaş's term, only 30 million dollars were spent on 426 events."

Özgür Özel emphasized that they stand by Mansur Yavaş until the end, stating, "This setup is so pathetic, so dirty!"
