Sefer Karaahmetoğlu has been elected as the new deputy mayor of Beyoğlu!

Due to corruption allegations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney was detained and arrested on August 15. The Ministry of Interior announced his suspension from duty.

In today's voting, CHP's candidate Sefer Karaahmetoğlu was elected as the Deputy Mayor of Beyoğlu. Tensions arose during the voting process.

Sefer Karaahmetoğlu, born in 1978 in Giresun, completed his education in Istanbul and has been practicing as a lawyer since 2015.

This change in Beyoğlu Municipality is seen as a significant development in local politics, potentially increasing CHP's influence in the area.
