Fires are raging in the Aegean Sea and the Balkans!

Forest fires in Izmir's Menderes, Çanakkale's Gelibolu, and Malatya's Doğanyol districts are being battled by teams working hard to bring them under control. The causes of the fires are under investigation, and some individuals have been detained.

Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman announced that the fire in Gelibolu is being fought with 3 planes and 3 helicopters. The fire has spread rapidly due to the wind and poses a threat to nearby villages.

In Malatya's Doğanyol district, a fire broke out in a forest of oak trees. Teams continue to intervene in the fire. If the fire grows, nearby villages may also be at risk.

The General Directorate of Forestry stated that they are intervening in the fires from the air and ground to bring them under control. The causes of the fires are being investigated.
