Imamoğlu's Promise for Social Housing and Economic Solutions

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made significant statements regarding social housing projects. He emphasized that rising rents are putting the public in a difficult position and aims to increase the social housing stock.
İmamoğlu stated, ‘When we come to power with the will of the people, we will increase the social housing stock from 1% to 20% in cooperation with local governments.’ This statement draws attention as part of the search for solutions to the housing crisis.
İmamoğlu highlighted that Turkey has faced economic difficulties for a long time, which has led to increased rents. He remarked, ‘Buying a house has become a dream long ago,’ emphasizing that social housing has become a deep need for the public.
He stated that citizens could become homeowners through social housing loans, saying, ‘Families, retirees, workers, and students will no longer have to worry about housing.’
