The discussions regarding the security camera recordings at the residence of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) President Ekrem İmamoğlu continue. İBB denied the allegations that the recordings were deleted.

İBB stated that during the detention operations on March 19, 2025, the camera recording devices were examined and non-evidential elements were separated before being sent to İSBAK. The deletion of recordings is a technically normal situation.

It was reported that İmamoğlu's security chief, Mustafa Akın, was also detained and faced accusations related to the deletion of recordings. İBB emphasized that all procedures were conducted within legal boundaries.

İBB stated that the maximum recording duration of camera systems is 30 days, and after this period, the recordings are automatically deleted. Therefore, the deletion of recordings is a normal process.

İmamoğlu and other İBB executives were detained as part of an ongoing corruption investigation. It was expressed that İBB acted transparently throughout this process.
