Friendly Meetings Between DEM Party and AKP

The DEM Party met with AKP as part of its visits to political parties. Two important topics were discussed during this meeting: penal reform and the new constitution.
AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler stated that the meeting was very sincere. This meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, allowing for mutual exchange of ideas.
The DEM Party published a declaration with seven demands during its meeting on May 25-26. These demands included the withdrawal of trustees and the establishment of local government autonomy.
The meeting also addressed Turkey's democratization process and the importance of public participation in decision-making processes, highlighting the significance of cooperation among political parties.
Following the discussions, the co-chairs of the DEM Party emphasized the steps that need to be taken to advance the peace process, particularly noting the importance of the PKK's call to lay down arms.
