Breaking news! A terror investigation has been launched against CHP municipalities. 34 suspects have been sent to court.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation into allegations of financing the terrorist organization DHKP/C between 2014-2016. Simultaneous operations were conducted at 34 addresses, resulting in the detention of 32 individuals.

Among the suspects is former Sarıyer Mayor Şükrü Genç, who has been sent to court after health checks. Allegations suggest that financing was provided to the terrorist organization through municipalities.

The investigation began with the testimony of an organization member who benefited from effective remorse provisions. Corruption was detected during inspections in the relevant municipalities.

The Istanbul Police Department's counter-terrorism teams continue to take statements from the detainees. It has been determined that some of the suspects are still actively working in the municipalities.
