Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu reacted strongly to the detention of Beykoz Mayor Alaattin Köseler.

Imamoğlu stated, "To conduct a home raid at 4:00 AM on a mayor who would rush to respond to any accusations is nothing but a reflection of personal ambition and anger."

The raid on Köseler's home while he was asleep with his wife, according to Imamoğlu, brings no benefit to the country or the people.

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chairman Özgür Çelik also reacted to this situation, stating, "The treatment of a 65-year-old mayor is the last link in the chain of oppression."

Imamoğlu emphasized that such practices are the result of political ambition and create negative effects in society.
