Reconstruction Efforts After Landslide Disaster in Cayeli

The landslide disaster in Cayeli occurred on November 18, 2024, following heavy rainfall. Approximately 60 tons of soil collapsed into the entrance of an apartment, resulting in one fatality.

With the collaboration of AFAD and local authorities, evacuation procedures were carried out in risky areas. Residents of 64 apartments were moved to safe locations.

Cayeli Mayor İsmail Hakkı Çiftçi evaluated the efforts, stating, "We conducted a meticulous and technical study." A careful approach was adopted to eliminate risks.
