Hurricane and Storm Disaster: Forest Fires Continue in Turkey

Hurricane and storm disasters are affecting Turkey. Forest fires are spreading rapidly!

Forest fires have broken out in Sakarya, Muğla, Çanakkale, Uşak, Hatay, Bursa, and İzmir, and teams are working hard to control them. In İzmir's Narlıdere district, a fire was brought under control within 2 hours with aerial and ground intervention.

In Muğla's Marmaris district, a fire in a grassy area was controlled within 45 minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

In Çanakkale, approximately 250 hectares have burned. Aerial support includes 7 planes and 6 helicopters. The governor stated that the fire started in agricultural land and spread to the forest.

In Uşak, a fire in a barley field has spread to scrubland. Teams are working to control the fire from the air and ground. The increase in fires is related to climate change and high temperatures.

In Bursa, forest fires are also ongoing. Teams are making intensive efforts to control the fires. Citizens are urged to be cautious to prevent the spread of fires.
