The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has lifted the mandatory central heating requirement in hot climate regions. This decision was made to increase energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

In the provinces of Adana, Antalya, Mersin, Muğla, and some districts of Hatay, there is no longer a requirement to install central heating systems. Individual heating systems are considered more efficient in these areas.

With the new regulation, new criteria for energy performance in buildings have been introduced. Energy consumption will be lower, and environmentally friendly solutions will be prioritized.

The control of mechanical installations in buildings and the processes for energy identity certificates have been made more comprehensive. Turkey has taken an important step towards sustainable construction.
