As the fire disaster approaches, issues in aircraft supply are drawing attention.

CHP Gaziantep Deputy Hasan Öztürkmen pointed out that with the summer months approaching, forests are facing the danger of fire. However, he emphasized that not a single aircraft has been added to the firefighting fleet.

Öztürkmen stated that the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK) has put eight firefighting aircraft up for sale due to unpaid debts, and the Forestry General Directorate had also called for tenders to lease aircraft months ago but has not finalized them.

He said, "The Forestry General Directorate has not been able to procure aircraft for months. Two tenders were canceled, and no new tender has been opened. We are facing a fire danger," he added.
