AFAD has announced Turkey's new earthquake hazard map!

This map shows 485 active fault segments in Turkey. It was implemented in January 2019 and prepared by experts.

Orhan Tatar, the Director General of Earthquake and Risk Reduction, shared the details of the map. The map displays the ground acceleration values.

Active faults play a significant role in the occurrence of earthquakes. The number of these faults in Turkey has been determined to be 485.
