Exciting news from Costa Rica's Poas Volcano!

The volcano experienced a severe eruption lasting about 10 minutes, with ash and gas clouds reaching heights of 4,708 meters above sea level. The wind carried ash to nearby cities.

The Costa Rica Volcanology and Seismology Observatory reported that due to increased seismic activity and sulfur dioxide emissions exceeding 600 tons per day, more eruptions could occur.

Volcanologist Geoffroy Avard stated that this activity is linked to the acidic crater lake Laguna Caliente, indicating a potential increase in volcanic activity in the region.
