The Perfect Storm: Turkey's Economy and Future

A graph showing economic status.

Conditions for a perfect storm have been accumulating globally. Turkey finds itself in the midst of this storm. Economic uncertainties and geopolitical risks are on everyone's agenda.

At the International Economy Summit, I listened to many important figures share their evaluations. Economist Nouriel Roubini stated that the current economic tensions could lead to a new cold war.

Roubini's words were striking: "We are moving from a period of stability to uncertainty. This is pure chaos. The law of the jungle applies here."

One of Turkey's biggest problems is inflation. Prof. Dr. Ali Hakan Kara mentioned, "The fight against inflation is unfortunately progressing slowly." Turkey is struggling to reduce inflation.

However, Turkey also has its strengths. EBRD Turkey and Caucasus Regional Director Elisabetta Falcetti highlighted Turkey's diversity and investment potential.

Former German President Christian Wulff emphasized the importance of Turkey's young population and NATO membership. He stated that modernization of the Customs Union is necessary.

In conclusion, will Turkey emerge stronger from this storm, or will it be swept away by the wave?
