Fuego Volcano Erupts! 30,000 People at Risk

A major eruption occurred at Guatemala's Fuego Volcano, putting 30,000 people at risk of evacuation.
Volcanic activity began on Sunday night, leading to the evacuation of 300 families from risky areas. The eruption took place about 50 kilometers southwest of Guatemala City.

Authorities reported that the lava and ash clouds from the eruption were captured by amateur cameras. So far, there have been no reported casualties.

In 2018, a significant eruption at Fuego Volcano resulted in 215 fatalities. As a precaution, many schools have suspended classes and risky roads have been closed to traffic.

Guatemala is located on the 'Pacific Ring of Fire', which is why volcanic activity occurs frequently. Fuego Volcano is known as one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
