The General Directorate of Meteorology has announced the weather forecasts for the weekend.

Local showers and thunderstorms are expected across much of the country, with temperatures predicted to drop in the interior and western regions. Today, a partly cloudy and very cloudy atmosphere will dominate the northern, interior, and western regions.

In the eastern Marmara, Inner Aegean, northern Central Anatolia, and the western parts of the Eastern Black Sea, local showers and thunderstorms will be observed. In other regions, the weather will generally be mostly clear and sunny.

Expected maximum temperatures for the weekend in some cities are as follows: Ankara: 33°C, Istanbul: 32°C, Izmir: 36°C, Antalya: 31°C, Adana: 35°C, Diyarbakir: 40°C, Samsun: 31°C, Trabzon: 29°C.

Meteorology announced that the wind will blow lightly from the north and occasionally at a moderate strength; it is expected to blow strongly at speeds of 40-60 kilometers per hour in the Marmara, Northern Aegean coasts, and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia.
