Retirement salaries and savings in education are hot topics in Turkey.

Cevdet Akay, a member of the TBMM Plan Budget Commission, questioned the expenditures made by MEB in 2024 and 2025. The spending on rents and building acquisitions by MEB this year highlights the neglect of essential educational needs.

The expenditures made by MEB show that while citizens are urged to tighten their belts under the guise of savings, the government does not refrain from its own expenses. This situation negatively impacts children's access to education in the country.

Cevdet Akay stated, "It is unacceptable to pay this money for concrete piles while the children of this country are hungry and unable to access education." These issues in education continue to be discussed alongside retirement salaries.

There is a need for public awareness and further discussion on increasing retirement salaries and resolving the issues of savings in education.
