Can artificial intelligence reduce working hours? Bernie Sanders made an interesting proposal on this topic.

Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, artificial intelligence has become one of the most talked-about topics in the tech world. Billionaires argue that AI will increase productivity but may also lead to a crisis of unemployment.

Bernie Sanders suggested that if we believe in the power of AI, workers could be granted the right to work only 30 hours a week. "Technology should benefit everyone, not just CEOs," he states.

Sanders believes that reducing the workweek to 32 hours would allow workers to spend more time with their families and rest. However, this proposal is not as radical as it may seem historically.

Many experts argue that AI does not currently pave the way for socially beneficial reforms. Instead, AI is being used to legitimize layoffs.

Despite these challenges, Sanders' message is clear: a universal 30-hour workweek is possible and can only be achieved through the struggle of workers. He advocates for AI to empower not just bosses but society as a whole.
