Greece is trying to block Turkey's participation in the European Union's SAFE program. This situation is increasing tensions between the two countries.

At a press conference in Brussels, Thomas Regnier stated that Greece opposes Turkey's inclusion in SAFE. Germany is expected to pressure Athens.

The SAFE program was created to support joint defense industry investments among EU countries and some others. Turkey's participation remains uncertain due to Greece's objections.

Greek Prime Minister Kiryakos Mitsotakis announced that Greece would veto Turkey's participation in the SAFE program. This situation further escalates relations between the two countries.

Greece stated that it would not allow Turkey to participate in the European defense initiative as long as Turkey maintains its claims of 'gray zones' in the Aegean Sea.

Turkey's role in European security is increasingly important. Greece should reconsider its relations in light of this situation.
