Elon Musk's space company SpaceX is launching thousands of satellites into orbit with the Starlink project. However, this situation is causing concern among experts.

Astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell from the Smithsonian Observatory states that 1 to 2 Starlink satellites fall to Earth every day. This number is rapidly increasing, and it is predicted that by 2035, 28,000 Starlink pieces could re-enter the atmosphere each year.

Starlink satellites have an average lifespan of five years. Expired satellites are directed to the atmosphere in a controlled manner. However, the metal and chemical residues released during this process may cause pollution in the upper atmosphere.

Experts indicate that this situation poses a significant threat to humanity and has turned the space debris issue into an unavoidable crisis. McDowell warns, "The crowding in orbit threatens not only the sky but also humanity's future space dreams."

The increasing activity of the sun also poses a separate threat to satellites. A strong solar storm could cause hundreds of satellites to fall uncontrollably at once.
