Minister Bayraktar's Energy Vision and Future Goals

Minister Bayraktar made significant statements regarding Turkey's energy vision. Next year, a large facility for Rare Earth Elements will be established in EskiÅŸehir.
The first reactor of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is expected to be operational by 2026. Turkey's nuclear capacity will reach 20,000 megawatts.
Natural gas production will also increase. By 2026, the natural gas needs of 8 million households will be met from domestic sources.
Minister Bayraktar noted that active exploration and production activities are ongoing abroad. Drilling is planned in Pakistan and Somalia in 2026.
