The events at CHP Istanbul Headquarters are significant in Turkey's political agenda. Gürsel Tekin's entry into the building with police escort has caused considerable tension among party members.

The Istanbul 45th Civil Court annulled the CHP's congress scheduled for October 8, 2023, and appointed a temporary board under Gürsel Tekin. This situation sparked protests and barricades were erected outside the building.

The police intervened with tear gas against citizens in front of the building, resulting in at least 10 arrests. CHP Group Vice President Ali Mahir Başarır expressed his difficulty in speaking due to the gas.

Before entering the building, Tekin stated, "We will have one or two contacts. Then we will enter our home." However, the police intervention complicated the situation further.

Despite the Istanbul Governor's bans, CHP called on all Istanbul residents to resist. The message was clear: "We will resist with the spirit of Saraçhane."
