Istanbul is evaluating AKP's report card. What happened during this process?

Istanbul Planning Agency President Bugra Gokce made important statements from prison. Gokce criticized the Istanbul earthquake and urban transformation issues. He pointed out that the central government and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality were managed by AKP between 1999 and 2019.

Gokce stated, "Today, being managed so poorly is a tiny parentheses in our history. We will close that parentheses as well." He emphasized that we are facing 1.3 million risky buildings in Istanbul.

Expressing that the Kanal Istanbul project was used as a tool for rent transfer, Gokce said, "With 65 billion dollars, there would be no risky buildings left in Istanbul."
