Pendik Municipality has come under scrutiny due to notable expenses highlighted in the 2024 Audit Committee Report. The order of 1 ton of baklava has sparked criticism from CHP members.

The total salary of 6 million TL paid to the advisors of Mayor Ahmet Cin reveals the scale of these expenses. Additionally, it was noted that 1 million 870 thousand TL was spent on gifts for weddings.

CHP council members also criticized the rent payments made to certain associations and foundations from the municipal budget. The rent for a student dormitory belonging to the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) was recorded at 241,612 TL.

Furthermore, it was stated that approximately 332 thousand TL worth of baklava was purchased from a business named Gazi Burma, which corresponds to nearly one ton. This situation reignites discussions about how public resources are utilized.
