CHP Kadıköy Youth Branch Protests Minimum Wage

The CHP Kadıköy Youth Branch protested the minimum wage being below the hunger line. Participants argued that the minimum wage condemns workers to poverty.
Erdem Kara, the President of CHP Istanbul Youth Branch, stated that the minimum wage cannot meet basic needs. He expressed that this situation is not only a management failure but also a political crisis.
Emre Tiftik, the Vice President of CHP Youth Branch, highlighted the effects of minimum wage on young people. He argued that Turkey is being turned into a country where 'labor is cheap and living is expensive.'
Erdener Doğan Işık pointed out child labor, stating that children are forced to work at an early age due to poverty. He emphasized that this situation leads to workplace fatalities.
Caner Sarıtaş expressed that the announced minimum wage is a poverty mandate, stating that a wage policy based on labor is essential. 'Minimum wage is not charity, it is a right,' he said.
