Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu made a strong statement against recent arrests. He criticized the detention of his colleagues, questioning the understanding of justice in the country.

Imamoğlu expressed through social media that people are being oppressed simply for working with him. He particularly emphasized the unacceptable nature of detaining mothers who are raising their children alone.

Imamoğlu stated, 'You arrest a mother on her child's birthday, leaving the child alone.' He pointed out that such practices harm the country and the people, stressing the need for everyone to do their part in ensuring justice.

He emphasized that the quest for justice is important not only for himself but for the entire society. 'Release the mothers, do not take more curses from the children,' he stated, asserting that they will not be able to account for this oppression in either world.
