CHP elections and HSK negotiations are on the agenda!

Zafer Party spokesperson Azmi Karamahmutoğlu claimed that a quota would be allocated to the DEM Party for the upcoming HSK elections. This move is seen as a step to avoid making an agreement with CHP and IYI Party.

Karamahmutoğlu stated that this agreement was made to achieve the necessary 2/3 majority in the Parliament for elections. This ratio is also the required number for constitutional amendments.

Of the 11 members of HSK, 4 are appointed by the President, while 7 are elected by the Parliament. In this context, a consensus was reached between the People's Alliance and the Nation Alliance to avoid a lottery in the candidate selection process in 2021.

The DEM Party will convene its Central Executive Board on April 11 to discuss the ongoing process. The meeting will address how to proceed with the negotiations.

Additionally, the DEM Party delegation is set to meet with AKP and MHP on March 17, with the meetings expected to take place in the Parliament.
