CHP Deputy Cemal Enginyurt criticized the scandalous remarks made by Mufti Ahmet Mehmetalioğlu following the death of artist Volkan Konak, who passed away on stage in Northern Cyprus.

Enginyurt responded to the mufti's statement, "He died on stage," saying, "We are talking about a mufti who has not received a shred of humanity and has sold his honor." These words resonated widely on social media.

The sudden death of Volkan Konak caused great sorrow across Turkey. Enginyurt emphasized that the mufti disrespected artists with such statements, saying, "Rest in peace, Volkan, you will always be remembered."

Many artists, including Gülben Ergen, also reacted to the mufti's remarks. Ergen expressed support for musicians, stating, "I wish all my colleagues who took the stage during this sorrowful holiday ease."
