The CHP's pre-election meeting has been banned! The Istanbul Governor's Office canceled the meeting scheduled at the Haliç Congress Center.

CHP Group Vice President Gokhan Gunaydin stated that this decision is against the law, justice, and conscience. He said, "The governor allowed Nevruz, but banned the meeting. This is unacceptable."

Gunaydin emphasized that the ban violates Article 4A of Law No. 2911, which states that political parties' closed-door meetings cannot be banned.

The Presidency's Communication Directorate denied claims that the CHP's pre-election meeting was banned. The governor's office stated that there is no ban on this meeting.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that despite the detentions, the pre-election will take place on March 23. Özel said, "We are waiting for everyone at the polls."

The CHP is a founding party of this country with a 102-year history. Therefore, trying to marginalize the party is beyond anyone's limits.
