Breaking news! A 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in the Mediterranean. According to AFAD, the depth of the earthquake was measured at approximately 24 kilometers.

AFAD reported that a tremor of 4.5 magnitude was recorded at 12:27 in the Mediterranean. This is one of the recent earthquakes in the region.

Previously, earthquakes of 4.3 and 4.4 magnitudes also occurred in the Mediterranean. Experts state that such earthquakes are part of the seismic activity in the area.

Geoscientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür provided information about the earthquakes occurring southwest of Crete Island. He stated that these types of earthquakes are related to the subduction of the African plate beneath the Anatolian plate.
