Severe rain in Rize has led to a major disaster.

For two days, heavy rainfall in the Eastern Black Sea region has caused flooding, water inundation, and landslides in Rize. Particularly in the Tunca district of Ardeşen, the situation is critical. Residents trapped in their homes were rescued with the help of heavy machinery.

The water levels of many streams, especially the Fırtına Stream and the Arılı Stream in Fındıklı district, have risen significantly. Municipal and special administration teams responded to reports of water inundation and landslides throughout the night.

This disaster has caused significant damage to areas where the Formulaz races are held. The Dereağzı social facility and restaurant were completely submerged.

As weather conditions improve, cleaning and repair efforts will continue rapidly. The traces of the flood disaster in Rize are being addressed.

Local authorities are mobilizing emergency plans to rescue trapped residents and mitigate the impact of the disaster.
