A major reforestation campaign has been launched in Bolu following forest fires!

In the aftermath of the fires in Goynuk and Gerede, plans are underway to plant over 5 million seedlings. This year, 100 hectares have been sown with black pine seeds, and an additional 1000 hectares will be planted in the fall.

The Bolu Forest Regional Directorate is working to green all burned areas by 2026. The goal is to plant 4.9 million seedlings in total.

The fires in Bolu have negatively impacted the local ecosystem, but they also present an opportunity for nature to rejuvenate. The reforestation efforts following the fires will benefit both the environment and the local economy.
