The excitement of the second day of the Kartalkaya fire trial has begun. The fire on January 21 claimed the lives of 78 people and injured 133 others.

The trial is being held in the gymnasium of Bolu Social Sciences High School. Both detained and non-detained defendants, as well as the injured and relatives of the deceased, are attending the trial.

Prior to the trial, extensive security measures were taken. The prosecution is requesting the punishment of hotel managers and municipal officials involved in the fire.

Relatives of those who lost their lives in the fire are expressing their reactions outside the courtroom. Families are carrying photos of their loved ones who perished in the disaster.

During the trial, it was noted that the fire started due to the negligence of untrained staff who could not intervene in the flames. The fire reportedly originated from an electric grill.

The Bolu Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigation into the fire. Inspections after the fire revealed that the hotel lacked a fire escape and that the fire alarm system had melted.
