Workers at Beşiktaş Municipality have gone on strike due to unpaid salaries. This situation has led to many workers experiencing grievances.

The Turkish General Services Workers Union (GENEL-İŞ) affiliated with DİSK stated that workers have not received their salaries in full for months and that their rights under the signed collective bargaining agreement have been disregarded.

The municipal workers expressed that they are unable to pay their rents and bills, emphasizing that they cannot remain silent in the face of this grievance.

The union also pointed out that the severance payments for the retired workers from Beşiktaş Municipality have not been paid, calling on the municipality management to immediately pay their dues.

This situation has led to garbage piling up in Beşiktaş. Workers stated that they will continue to fight until they receive their rights.
